Today, I reviewed all of the task I have done this term. I still have to upload some videos and submit the MDW. I can download it on the student desk. All tasks must be submitted on the end of the week. Finally, I listened to some of my friends' composition.

Today, I practiced and tried playing my composition in front of the class. I think I still have some trouble blowing the flute correctly to make a good sound. So, I have to practice more.

Music Reflection 2.0 #13(Wednesday, 19th May)

Today, I learnt how to write sharp and flat correctly. It has to be on the same line with the note. Then, I learnt how to write the 3 sharps. After I finished all of that, I listened to some composition of my friend.

I think I understood how to write sharp and flat correctly. I also knew how to write the 3 sharps now.

Now, I need to practice for my assessment.

Today, I found out about my reflection score and how the personal engagement score contribute to the final score. Then, I learnt how to write C/Alto clef. After that, Mr. Herry told us to save a midi file of out finale composition. Now, I need to practice my rondo composition and sent the midi file via email

Today, I did an exercise about musical notation. I have to match each note and rest with their respective definition. Then, I transposed notes from treble clef to bass clef.

I understand all the exercises, so I got perfect score. I also understand how to transpose.

Now, I need to practice my rondo composition

Today, I had a fever, so I couldn't go to school. So, when I feel better, I will try to practice my rondo composition

Music Reflection 2.0 #9(Wednesday, 5th May)

Today, Mr Herry told us to ask our instrument teacher to put the chord on the composition. Then, I learnt how to write correctly on finale. After that, I learnt how to write notations in Bass Clef and how it's different from Treble Clef

In instrument class, Mr Hary checked my composition and gave the chord.

Now, I need to put my composition in finale to be submitted on Friday

Music Reflection 2.0 #8(Friday, 30th April)

Today, Mr. Herry told us how to write in finale. He showed how to put the lyrics, fit measures, adding the chord, or edit the composition detail, such as title and composer.

I understand almost all the features of finale so it's not hard for me.

Now, I need to practice my rondo and ask Mr. Hary to write the chord for my composition.

Music Reflection 2.0 #7(Wednesday, 28th April)

Today, Mr. Herry gave me the test result. I'm satisfied with my score because I got 42 out of 46, the highest in the class. Too bad I didn't get perfect score. For the exam, I need to perform my ABACA rondo composition. Then, Mr. Herry checked our blog updates.

Now, I need to start practising the scale and rondo composition in flute for my exam.

Music Reflection 2.0 #6(Friday, 23rd April)

Today, I did the B section of my rondo composition. The pattern is 1-2,3-4. After I finished, I copied all of my A section. So, now only C section is empty.

I think I understand all the pattern well, so I could do my structure of the composition correctly.

Now, I need to write my reflection and upload my video by the end of this week

Music Reflection 2.0 #5(Wednesday, 21st April)

Today, I gave my hard copy of the finale homework to Mr. Herry. Then, while the other students were doing their reflections in the library, he showed us some advertisement video that used song, such as Coca-cola and LG. Then, I made the A section of the ABACA rondo composition.

I already finished the finale task last week, so I didn't have to rush and do it last night. I don't really know how every note sounds, so I only made the draft version of my rondo composition.

Now, I need to try playing my A section of the composition to test how it sounds

Music Reflection 2.0 #4(Friday, 16th April)

Today, I watched some movies on youtube. The first one was called "When You Say Nothing at All". It was about Alison Krauss who sang that song. The song had a slow-moderate tempo. It's a popular type of music. The second video is about Katherine McPhee from American Idol. She was singing "Over the Rainbow". It was a very famous song. She sang it very while and sometimes she interacted with the audiences. Her version of the song had few differences to the original. The third song was about grade 10 student called Adelin Koji. She performed her own composition using piano.

Music Reflection 2.0 #3(Wednesday, 14th April)

Today, I took the second chance for the test. The test questions were almost similar to the one from last week. After I finished it, Mr. Herry showed Arya's and Fred's video on their blog.

I think I did well on all the notations questions, because they were pretty easy. But, I'm not really sure about the history questions. I think I only managed to answer half of it. So, I think I made a lot of mistakes in that section.

Now, I need to finish my finale homework and don't forget to write the reflection

Music Reflection 2.0 #2(Friday, 9th April)

Today, I did the musical notation quiz. It was about scales, triad and major and minor chord. It also had some history questions. Then, Mr. Herry told us about the finale project that must be submitted by Friday next week.

I think I did well for the test, except the history part because I don't really

remember all of the history of music.

Now, I need to buy finale software and copy my composition to be submitted

next week. I also need to read some history for next week test

Music Reflection 2.0 #1(Wednesday, 7th April)

Today was the first day of term 4. I reviewed the notation in class; such as scales, chord, Major, Minor, Triad and Inversion. Then, I was given task to post a video of my practice at home in addition to the reflection I used to write during term 3.

I understand all of the notations well enough because I already learnt it last term. Thus, I'm confident for Friday test.

Now, I need to record my practice so I can put it on my blog along with my weekly reflection

Music Reflection #16(Friday, 12th March)

Today, I learnt the F, B flat, E flat and A flat major scale and chord. Then, I also learnt about the minor chord of F, B flat, E flat and A flat.

I think I understand well enough about the major part, but I don't understand the minor part

Music Reflection #15 (Wednesday, 10th March)

Today, I didn't have to perform our own composition performance. It was moved to next week. Thus, I have more time to practice. Then, I found out my score for my classical music performance and saw that my blog has been checked. Finally, Mr. Herry told us on how to download and do our Music Developmental Workbook.

I think my score for the classical music assessment isn't good enough, so I have to improve it on my own composition assessment.

Now, I need to practice for my assessment and submit the Music Developmental Workbook by monday.

Music Reflection #14(Friday, 5r March)

Today was the IB workshop day for teachers. Thus, there was no classes for today. So, I didn't have my music class again and couldn't practice my music assessment next week.

I think I have to practice my assessment at home and if I encounter some problems, I can go to Mr. Hary for advice or feedback.

Music Reflection #13(Wednesday, 3rd March)

Today, I performed my classical music instrument assessment. I played 'Amazing Grace' with flute. I didn't play well because I was nervous. I lost the flute sound few times. So, I should practice more.

Next week, I am going to perform my own composition instrument assessment. I will play my own composition using flute. I have to practice more so I will perform way better than my classical music assessment

Today was a holiday, so there was no school.

Today, I was absent because I had to attend a family event. So, I couldn't attend music theory and instrument class

Because I was absent today, I wasn't able to rehearse my instrument performance. Therefore, I need to practice at home.

Music Reflection #10 (Friday, 19th February)

Theory: Today, I completed my final 32 bars composition. After that, I made my lyrics for my composition. My lyric's theme was about homework. After I submitted it and wrote my reflection, I went to instrument class to practice a classical song.

Instrument: Today, I started to practice a classical song. Mr.Hary told me

to play Amazing Grace. So, I practised that song during instrument class. I

also need to practice at home so I can play it better.

Music Reflection #9 (Wednesday, 17th February)

Today, I learnt how to make the reflection on blogger.com. Then, I listened to the class composition. Mr. Herry also gave me some feedback to make my composition simpler. Then, I learnt how to write lyrics.

I think it's easy to make a blog. I also think my composition is too hard to play with flute.

I have to make my music reflection blog when I got home. I also need to make my final composition to be submitted on Friday with my lyrics included in it.

Music Reflection #8 (Friday,12th February)

Today, I learnt how to write an AA'BA' 32 bars. Then, I tried to make my own 32 bars composition. After some changes, I managed to finish my composition.

I think I understand the 32 bars theory very well and I can make one good composition

Now, I need to choose a classical song for my instrument assessment.

Music Reflection #7 (Wednesday,10th February)

Today, I submitted the music booklet. Then, I wrote my reflection about it. After that, I did my make-up singing test because I was absent. I sang "Blowing in the Wind". After I finish, I learnt how to make a 4/4 bar. Before the class end, I made 8 bars.

I think I understand the theory of making bars well enough.

I will do my homework in making the third line of my 16 bars for my next class.

Music Reflection #4 (Friday, 29th January)

Today, I presented about Classical v Popular Music with my group to the whole class for my presentation assessment. Then, I did the chord exercise and wrote my reflection about my presentation.

I think I wasn't preparing enough so I didn't memorize all of my part.

Next time, I need to be more prepared so I can remember all my part in the presentation.

Today is a holiday, so didn't have any music class.

Music Reflection #2 (Friday,22nd January)

Today, I learnt how to sing "Blowing in the Wind". After the whole class practice together, I sang together with my group. Then, my group discussed how we would do the presentation assessment. After we finish, we presented how we are going to do our presentation assessment and the contents of our slide.

I think I didn't sing loud enough when I sang with my group. But, I think my group and I did a good job in making the presentation.

For the next music class, I need to do my presentation assessment. I also need to sing louder during my singing assessment.

Music Reflection #1 (Wednesday,20th January)

Today is my first day is music class. I learnt about diatonic scale and the difference between 1 and half tone. Then, I learnt how to write a major scale.First, I copy the example of C and G major and when to use sharp and flat. Next, I did the D and A major scale. I also learnt how to sing "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

I think I understand the major scale and wrote the D and A major scale correctly.

Next Friday, I will divide the slide presentation work within my group with Arya, Arfa, and Dito.
